Debunking Franchise Sales Myths

I’ve been in sales most of my professional life. I think, sales people as well as the rest of the population, have some pretty solid stereotypes about who we are and how we operate.

Steve Olson of Olson & Associates along with Rebecca Monet of Zoracle Profiles recently teamed up to conduct research on some of the top-performing franchise development professionals to see if there were certain markers (values, culture and competencies) that have made them successful.

The research participants all took Zoracle Profiles SpotOn! Assessment as well as our Social and Emotional Intelligence Assessment. The results have been eye opening, to say the least. The top 3 myths our research debunked were:

  • Successful salespeople are outgoing and “people persons”
  • Good salespeople can sell any franchise concept
  • Good salespeople are interested only in their commission
